Stop the Hurt: 3 Ways You Can Relieve Pain

If you’re finding it difficult to relieve pain, you might want to try a few of these approaches.

Diet

Diet and exercise have been shown to help a lot of things, and believe it or not, watching what you eat can actually also help you reduce headache and migraine pain. Certain foods have been shown to affect how bad, and how frequently headache and migraine pain can be be.

Chocolate, dairy, peanut butter, avocados, bananas, oranges, onions, meats with nitrates like bacon and hot dogs, foods that have monosodium glutamate (MSG), red wine, and foods that have been fermented or pickled have been linked to migraines. In other words, if you suffer from a lot of headaches, or really painful ones — or both — then these are the foods you may want to avoid eating.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture, the 3,000-year-old healing technique of Traditional Chinese Medicine, puts anywhere from one to 20 FDA-approved, metallic acupuncture needles into the body, leaving them there for between 15 and 30 minutes. This practice can help relieve pain, and according to the World Health Organization, can also help at least two dozen other conditions.

Charcoal Capsules

Charcoal is one of nature’s all natural filters, and in a pinch, you can use it in a makeshift water filter to survive. Just as it can be used to get the poisonous substances that you might find in water, it can also be used to help eliminate all the toxins and chemicals that might be causing you pain. In other words, activated charcoal capsules can absorb the chemicals and toxins in your stomach if you’re hungover or suffering from food poisoning, helping you feel better and speeding up your healing process.

These are just a few of the different ways out there that you can relieve pain, and feel better. If you know of any other tips and tricks, feel free to share them in the comments.
