Eating better might seem like a mountainous task, but it’s not as hard as you might think. Here are just a few of the steps you can take to get yourself on a path towards wellness.
Act on Acupuncture.
Acupuncture clinics can help with a number of different things. The 3,000-year-old healing technique of Traditional Chinese Medicine can help relieve pain, make people feel stronger, and even deal with a number of medical ailments, like inflammation. The World Health Organization (WHO) endorses acupuncture for at least two dozen conditions. It can also help people’s diets. A study from 2013 found that ear acupuncture can help improve metabolic function. Though researchers didn’t understand the mechanism — how acupuncture necessarily helps improve metabolic function — they saw the results as an invitation to further study acupuncture. No wonder more than 3,000 U.S. physicians integrate acupuncture into their clinical practice!
Swap That Soda.
One of the easiest ways you can start eating better is to start drinking better. The average person consumes more than 400 calories a day just from what they drink. Worst of all, they also get 10 teaspoons of added sugar every day just from soft drinks. Rather than having that Coke or that Mountain Dew, try water or iced tea. Research shows that it’s possible to lose as much as 40 pounds in just a single year if you were to quit drinking soda.
Practice Eating Protein.
Every meal centers around protein. Breakfast has its bacon and eggs, lunch has its turkey and ham, and dinner has chicken, steak, or whatever you’d really like. If you focus on this piece of the meal, you’ll find it easier to lose weight because you’ll feel more full after each meal. In turn, you’ll be less tempted to snack. Protein also jump-starts your metabolism, too. That being said, be sure to avoid the more unhealthy proteins, like deep-fried or red meats.
